Nothing feels great than a clean and refreshing bathroom. Unfortunately, keeping bathroom tiles, floor, and toilet squeaky clean and germ-free is not an easy task. No matter how devotedly you clean your bathrooms, they require deeper cleaning, which is not always a success. Many over-the-counter shower cleaning products are not as effective as homeowners expect them to be. The good news is that you can make homemade shower cleaners using ingredients in your pantry. A good DIY shower cleaner will do deep cleaning and make your bath place shine like never before.
DIY Shower Cleaner For Bath Tub
Bathtubs are difficult to clean, especially from the bottom surface. For cleaning them effectively, make a homemade cleaner with 2 cups of baking soda, 2 tbsp of vinegar, 3 tbsp of liquid soap, and 1 liter of water. Spray this baking soda solution on the tub, scrub and rinse well. You can add 4-6 drops of fragrance oil to leave a soothing smell.
DIY Cleaner For Tiles & Grout
Cleaning grouts is certainly a difficult task. However, they can be cleaned with good homemade cleaning solutions like diluted bleach and vinegar solution.
- Diluted Bleach: Mix equal parts of warm water and bleach. You can use more water to make a mild solution. Use an empty perfume bottle to store this diluted bleach solution.
- Vinegar + Dish Soap: Vinegar is also a good shower cleaner but not more effective than bleach. You can prepare 1:1 vinegar and dish soap solution and use it to disinfect your tiles/grout.
DIY Shower Cleaner For Sinks And Faucets
Sinks and faucets tend to lose their shine over time. Hence, it is important to clean and polish them rightly. Use 2-3 cups of baking soda and one tablespoon of liquid soap to clean bathroom sink fixtures. Polish them with wax paper after cleaning. You can polish it once every three months.
Shower Cleaner For Toilet
To clean toilets and restore their shine, you can use the following recipes:
- Drinking Cola, Sodium Bicarbonate & Vinegar: Combine the three ingredients in equal proportions. You can pour the cola into the toilet. Wait for 15 minutes before flushing. Next, pour 1 cup of white vinegar and sodium bicarbonate. Scrub to remove stains and then wash with warm water.
- Bleach – Water Solution: You can also employ diluted bleach to make your toilet clean and tidy. If your toilet is really filthy, you need to prepare a strong bleach solution. Take a tablespoon of household bleach and mix it with a liter of warm/hot water. Pour it into the toilet and keep the toilet undisturbed for at least 15 minutes before rinsing it with water.
DIY Cleaner For Bathroom Mirror
Spray some distilled white vinegar solution on the mirror and wipe it up with newspaper. This is the easiest and cheapest way to clean mirrors. It will also prevent your bathroom mirrors from fogging up for a few days. You can also add some liquid soap in the vinegar solution.
