Cleaning a bedroom is not easy for every individual. Activities involved in cleaning including sweeping, vacuuming, organizing things, moving furniture can be truly time-consuming. Fortunately, you can completely get out of ‘clean my room’ notion by making cleaning feel less of a chore and more of an interesting task. Follow these tips and get your room cleaned easily and quickly:
Step 1: Set A Timer
Calculate the time you would be spending on cleaning your bedroom. You can take a look at your room to determine how large the mess is and then set aside some time for the task.
Step 2: Say ‘No’ To Interruptions
To dedicate all your energy to this cleaning task and to do the task fast, you need to prevent interruptions. Switch off your computer and mobile phone to prevent people from disrupting you while you clean your room. You can also tell your family members “I am about to clean my room and not to distract me for a while”.
Step 3: Start By Cleaning The Floor
Kick off the cleaning job by clearing your room floor of items that might have been lying there. This could be shoes, furniture, dirty dishes, etc. Take a chair and make a pile of loose items and move the rest furniture in the hallway. Remove dirty dishes and throw any garbage in a trash bag. If you have dirty clothes scattered in your room, put them in the washer.
Step 4: Rearrange & Organize Your Piles
Now take a look at your bedroom and check for items that are not resting in their original places. First, keep them on the chair you have reserved for the loose items and then put them back to places where they belong. If you have loose clothes, organize them and put them in your wardrobe. Don’t forget your office bag, shoes, ties, belts, etc. At last, you can move the chair into the hallway.
Step 5: Dust, Vacuum & Mop
Gather all the rugs from your bedroom and take them outside to give them a good shake. If the rugs are really dirty, you need to toss them in the washer. Next, dust your entire room including bed, windows, curtains, bedside tables, lamps, etc. Once you are done with dusting, it’s time to vacuum the room. Follow this with mopping. You can mop your floor with plain water or employ a mild cleaner for the same.
Step 6: Organize Your Closet
Organize your closet by hanging or folding the wardrobe essentials if they are scattered here and there. If you have items you no longer use, it’s wise to move them out of your closet to create space for other essentials.
Step 7: Make The Bed
The last step will involve making your bed. Take off your bed sheet, pillow covers, blankets, etc. if they are dirty and replace them with clean ones. Don’t forget to spray a good air freshener in the end. You can also keep an essential oil diffuser in the room to make it smell pleasant.
Cleaning your room won’t be a cumbersome task if you follow these tips. Happy cleaning!
