If you own a home that has two stories, then you know of the necessity for gutter cleaning tools. The problem is that many people think they are unnecessary and cost too much. So are they really? You may be surprised to find out that they can actually save you money in the long run. But that gutter cleaning tools are best?

Your gutter is going to be connected to downspouts, which carry water from your roof to the ground. That’s why they need to be kept clear. However, leaves and other debris can easily get caught in them and cause damage. Cleaning them regularly can prevent this so that your water flow is not interrupted. If you have a one story house, you will only need one tool to clean both the top and bottom of the gutter.

Leaf Blower Tools – This is perhaps the most basic gutter cleaning tools that you can purchase. It consists of a small nozzle that you connect to the gutter through a small tube. A leaf blower simply moves the leaves and other debris into the cleaner. While it is a very easy to use, it will not get as much use as you might like. Shears – You probably did not want to hear this but shears are actually pretty good for cleaning your gutter. These are just really sharp shears that you can use to remove any hard debris from your gutter system. If you are going to be using these, make sure you get the ones with the double blades. That way, you can cut down on the damage done to your gutters.

Contractors – If you have a bigger job, you may want to consider a contractor. They generally have more gutter cleaning tools than we do. There are special drain cleaners that are designed for contractors that have larger jobs. There are special cleaning agents that are designed for larger jobs. You can even buy gutter cleaning tools designed for contractors.

Waterproofers – We don’t always want to use water on our gutters. For one thing, it makes the whole thing rust proof. Plus, it takes forever to dry out. If you think you can handle that, then go ahead and buy a waterproofer. There are a lot of different ones to choose from so shop around a bit.

Remember that all gutter cleaning tools mentioned here can be used by yourself. However, if you have a larger gutter system, then you should definitely get a professional to help you. You may not feel comfortable doing it, or it may be dangerous for you. Either way, you should still call the professionals if you notice a problem. The last thing you want is to damage your gutter and be stuck with a broken gutter on top of all that.

Cleaning brushes – The brushes have come a long way from the wire toothbrush you probably had as a kid. Today’s versions are precision made and even act as a vacuum. Just put them in the gutter and they will suck out all the leaves and twigs. They are very effective and you can get them at any hardware store.

Shears – The shears are another must have gutter cleaning tools for 2-story house. You can easily cut tree limbs down to size with a hedge shear. They can easily get into those hard to reach places in the gutter and clean away. Even a small piece of debris can be removed with a hedge shear.

So as you can see there are many different tools that can be used to keep your gutters free from leaves, twigs, pine needles and even rats and insects. If you want to make sure your gutters are working properly you should use all these products. They can easily be found at home improvement stores or even online.
